OUR MISSION STATEMENT
Support our neighbors.
COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY
In honor of the 10 year anniversary of Levi’s Stadium opening in Santa Clara, we are launching 49ers Cares as an organization-wide effort to provide our neighbors in Santa Clara with outstanding community support and life-changing opportunities.
Santa Clara is a unique place, and since we moved here our organization has been incredibly proud to call this city our home.
We know that what makes Santa Clara so special is the people, and we look forward to continuing to work with our friends and neighbors in Santa Clara for decades to come.
CHARITABLE GIVING & COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
In the past ten years our organization has provided millions of dollars to community programs including:
STEM LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
We have invested over $11,000,000 into our partnership with the Santa Clara Unified School District to provide STEM opportunities to Santa Clara students.
As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering gender equity in sports, we have supported co-ed schools camps benefiting over 48,000 local female student-athletes.
READ FOR JUSTICE
Every year our organization purchases books for regional elementary schools, totaling several thousand donated books.
We are proud to honor educators who have made an exceptional difference in their students’ lives with a ticket, a jersey and an on-field recognition.
Santa Clara is home to a vibrant network of community support organizations, and we are proud to have partnered with the following organizations:
SECOND HARVEST COMMUNITY FOOD BANK
We have partnered with Second Harvest to provide thousands of meals to Santa Clara community members since the launch of the partnership in 2020. This is in addition to the 116,000 meals donated to other regional food banks over the past seven years.
BILL WILSON CENTER
Through our partnership with the Center, we have provided thousands of Santa Clara County residents with food, heaters, clothing, and back-to-school supplies.
We have partnered with CASA and local social service agencies to support Santa Clara’s foster youth programs with funding and event space, including hosting graduations.
Since Levi’s Stadium has opened, we have supported numerous hospital staff and families with loved ones who are hospitalized by providing goodie bags, player videos, game day experiences, and hospital visits.
Our goal has always been to make Levi’s Stadium a cornerstone of the economy and community for Santa Clara. Our impact has included:
Building the stadium to Santa Clara has generated more than $2 billion in economic impact for the region.
JOBS & WAGES
The stadium has generated over 11,600 full-time jobs across the county since it opened, totaling over $540 million in earnings for local workers.
Revenue from the stadium has provided roughly $333 million to the City of Santa Clara and the Santa Clara Stadium Authority.
YOUTH & SENIORS FUND
Revenue from each and every 49ers ticket sold at the stadium goes towards supporting Youth and Seniors programs in the City of Santa Clara, totaling over $2,000,000 since 2014.
The stadium is decades ahead of schedule in paying back its debt, saving over $100 million in interest for the Santa Clara Stadium Authority.
COMMUNITY AREA & EVENT SPACE
Levi’s Stadium is more than just a football stadium, and we are proud to host events for our community, including:
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Levi’s Stadium hosted the largest vaccination drive in California, with funds provided by the 49ers, in order to keep our community safe.
At the beginning of each football season, we provide free tickets to Santa Clara residents to visit our training facility and watch the team practice.
HOPE FOR THE HOLIDAYS
In partnership with local non-profit organizations, each year our players and staff have helped to deliver hundreds of meals and gifts to local families for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
T.H.I.N.K. GOLD! CONFERENCE
Since 2009, we have hosted a conference for female student athletes, including Santa Clara residents, that focuses on supporting young women in their athletic endeavors, and gives them an inside look at the world of professional sports.
We have opened Levi’s Stadium to Santa Clara County voters on Election Day and early voting periods to encourage every resident to vote.
It is our responsibility to leave our planet and community a better place, which has been the motivating factor behind our environmental efforts including:
We are proud to have been the first gold-certified football stadium due to our innovative green initiatives.
Our stadium’s recycled water program has saved over 100 million gallons of water since we opened in 2014.
The 27,000 square foot green space on the stadium’s tower roof helps to reduce heating and cooling requirements.
Our compostable cups, eating and serving utensils have helped to reduce waste from events and games.
Over 20,000 square feet of solar panels located around the stadium help to offset our energy usage, making all of our NFL events carbon neutral.
We are proud of the work that we have done in this community, but we know there is still more to be done. As part of our ongoing commitment to our neighbors, we are incredibly pleased to announce the following donations:
Santa Clara Swim Center
Santa Clara Schools Foundation
Bill Wilson Center for Domestic Violence
We will continue to find ways to engage and support the community that we love and we look forward to continuing to be your neighbor.
