7th NFL season; 7th with 49ers

Meghan Ryan is in her seventh season with the 49ers and her second as Vice President, Digital and Social. She previously served as the Director of Digital and Social. Currently, she is responsible for all content and digital and social strategy for the 49ers, as well as Levi’s® Stadium and ancillary businesses.  

Ryan oversees content creation including production and photography services and manages a creative team of talented shooters, editors, photographers to develop and execute content for distribution across a variety of mediums. Her team’s work is featured across all owned channels including email communication, team and stadium social channels, websites and the official 49ers mobile app. Her editorial oversight includes publication of thousands of pieces of written content, podcasts, photo galleries, short and long form video series and social copy. Ryan and her team collaborate across the organization to engage with the next generation of Faithful by delivering relevant content and personalized communication across all channels. Her team is constantly looking to drive partnership value and revenue through creative executions while constantly seeking ways to improve Levi’s Stadium’s renowned fan experience. Thanks to her leadership, the 49ers digital team currently ranks in the top quartile across the NFL for social traffic, engagement and revenue metrics. She was also instrumental in leading the efforts as the beta club for the NFL Club Sites platform launch in the spring of 2018.

Adding to her already notable resume, Ryan also serves as Vice President of Marketing for Elevate Sports Ventures, best-in-class sports and entertainment consulting firm, providing proven, innovative solutions to organizations across the global sports and entertainment landscape. Formed in partnership between the San Francisco 49ers and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) in 2018, Elevate welcomed Oak View Group (OVG) and Ticketmaster and Live Nation as partners in June 2018.

A sports digital marketing veteran of ten years, Ryan’s experience dates back to her time with the Boston Red Sox. Prior to moving across the country and joining the 49ers in 2015, she spent five seasons in Boston building the organization’s social content strategy from the ground up. She was also part of Fenway Sports Management’s platform development team on global sports marketing partnership sales. Ryan is a proud owner of a championship ring, thanks to the Red Sox 2013 World Series victory.

Ryan graduated from Trinity College with a BA in Economics where she served as captain of the women’s field hockey team in 2009. She also served on the academic board of ISDI Digital University, the first native digital business school offering a comprehensive Master’s degree in Internet business. Recently Ryan was recognized as a member of the 2021 Class of SVBJ Women of Influence honorees.

Originally from Boston, Ryan currently resides in San Francisco.
