#19 Utah to Meet Indiana in 2016 Foster Farms Bowl at Levi’s® Stadium

Sunday, December 4, 2016

The pairing is set for the annual Foster Farms Bowl at Levi’s Stadium as the 19th-ranked Utah Utes (8-4, 5-4 Pac-12) and Indiana Hoosiers (6-6, 4-5 Big Ten) will represent the Pac-12 and Big Ten Conferences, respectively. This year marks the 15th anniversary of the Bay Area Bowl Game and the first time that the game is being played under the management of the San Francisco 49ers.

The Foster Farms Bowl will be held at 5:30 p.m. PT on Wednesday, December 28th, in front of a national television audience on the FOX broadcast network, marking the first ever airing of the game on broadcast television. The game will also be simulcast in Spanish on FOX Deportes. Tickets and event details are now available through Ticketmaster at LevisStadium.com.

“We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to invite a ranked team in Utah and an up-start squad in Indiana to square off in the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl,” said Jamie Brandt, Foster Farms Bowl Executive Director. “This game holds a proud position within the Bay Area holiday calendar and we look forward to welcoming the fans of the Utes and Hoosiers later this month.”

Foster Farms became the naming-rights partner for the Bay Area’s annual college bowl game on November 12th, 2014. Since its inception in 2002, the Bowl game has become an annual fixture in the Bay Area’s sporting landscape. It was previously held at AT&T Park before moving to Levi’s Stadium in 2014.

“We are thrilled to showcase the excellent coaches and student-athletes from these two programs on FOX,” said Larry Jones, FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Business. “We are looking forward to an exciting matchup to cap off what has been a truly great season of college football.”

Utah returns to the Bay Area game for the first time since the 2005 Emerald Bowl at AT&T Park in San Francisco. The Utes finished the season ranked 19th in the College Football Playoff Rankings and 23rd in the Coaches Poll. Utah is in search of their third consecutive bowl victory after defeating BYU, 35-28, in last year’s Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl. Indiana will make its first ever Foster Farms Bowl appearance, marking the school’s first back-to-back bowl berths in a quarter century after falling to Duke, 44-41, in overtime in the 2015 Pinstripe Bowl.
