SANTA CLARA RESIDENTS TO RECEIVE PRIORITY ACCESS TO SECOND 49ERS PRACTICE

Friday, July 18, 2014

A series of unique benefits, discounts and programs for the Santa Clara community have been unveiled in celebration of the opening of Levi’s® Stadium. The promotion began with priority ticket access to attend a practice session during 49ers Training Camp presented by SAP on Friday, August 15th and includes the ability for Santa Clara residents to pre-book individual and private group tours of Levi’s® Stadium at a discounted rate.

“This is an historic moment for the City of Santa Clara as we get ready to open Levi’s® Stadium as the centerpiece of a new entertainment district that will contribute jobs, housing and revenue to the City for years to come,” said Santa Clara Mayor Jamie Matthews. “The 49ers have been and continue to be amazing partners and I look forward to the history and memories for generations yet to be made at Levi’s® Stadium.”

For an opportunity to attend 49ers training camp practices at Levi’s® Stadium on August 4th, 15th and 20th, individuals must register on the 49ers Facebook page or Levi’s® Stadium Facebook page for a random selection that will distribute 10,000 free tickets to fans. The deadline for residents of Santa Clara to register online for the random selection has been extended to Friday, July 25nd. The Friday, August 15th practice is “Santa Clara Day” and only residents of Santa Clara and Levi’s® Stadium SBL owners will be eligible to receive those tickets. For all practice sessions, randomly selected individuals will be notified during the week of July 28rd of their opportunity to claim their tickets for the event.

“We’re excited to welcome our Santa Clara neighbors to Levi’s® Stadium with the same level of hospitality they have shared with us over the years,” said 49ers COO Al Guido. “We can’t wait to introduce Santa Clarans to this new building by giving them an up-close-and-personal look at the current state of 49ers football and Levi’s® Stadium.”

Levi’s® Stadium also recently launched advanced booking for its tour program that includes a year-round offering of both individual and private group guided tours to Santa Clara residents for $20, a $5 discount off the standard fee. Residents are now able to pre-book guided tours, which are set to begin August 8th, at www.LevisStadium.com/Tours based on availability. On that date, the ticket box office at Levi’s® Stadium will also be open, allowing residents of Santa Clara to buy two tour tickets for every Santa Clara I.D. All children under five are admitted free.

Santa Clara residents will also receive a $5 discount off the standard $15 admission fee to the 49ers Museum presented by Sony – the 20,000-square foot interactive museum that tells the storied history of the 49ers and is home to the Edward J. DeBartolo, Sr. 49ers Hall of Fame. In addition, more than 3,100 students from 11 different schools within the Santa Clara Unified School District (SCUSD) will participate in the Museum’s free education program, for which additional details and information will be released in the coming weeks.

Additionally, 60 local students have been chosen to participate in the inaugural class of the 49ers STEM Leadership Institute at Santa Clara’s Cabrillo Middle School. These students will engage in a STEM-focused education curriculum designed to prepare them to engage in scientific research, impactful community-changing projects, or become entrepreneurs – putting them on the path to pursue a STEM major at a top-tier university. Highlighting this program is the new Chevron STEM Zone, an interactive space for these students to learn how STEM is connected to everyday life. A ribbon cutting ceremony for the Chevron STEM Zone is scheduled for today from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Cabrillo Middle School and media are invited to attend.

The innovative 49ers STEM Leadership Institute is an initiative created by the 49ers Foundation to advance educational opportunities for promising Santa Clara students. The 49ers are working with Chevron, the Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) and the SCUSD on the program and beginning in August, students will participate in activities at Levi’s® Stadium throughout the school year.
